General Information on the EYCA

4-Player for 2023-24:

Ages: 11 (birth year 2014)-18 (birth year 2005)  (exceptions may apply)
Coaching: each team requires a team coach
Team composition: Co-ed and / or same gender teams (open)
Experience: Participants must have at least 1 years experience (exceptions may apply). 
Length of season: 12 week season plus year end
Schedule: Our tentative schedule will have games played on;
November 5, 12, & 25 at the Ellerslie Curling Club
December 2, 9 & 16 at the Sherwood Park Curling Club
January 6, 13, 27 - St. Albert Curling Club
February 4, 10, 24 - Granite Curling Club
March 9 (full day event) at the Ellerslie Curling Club
A more detailed schedule with specific dates, times, and location will be released after registration closes. These dates are subject to change dependent on facility availability.
League times: Games will be played, Saturday's or Sunday's and, depending on ice availability, be morning or afternoon games.
Locations: Tentative clubs are Sherwood Park, Ellerslie, Granite, Crestwood and more.
Tiered divisions: Competitive Division (3 or more years curling experience, team average) and Recreational Division (less than 3 years experience, team average) for 4-player curling, dependent on registration numbers. If your team averages 3 or more years experience, but feel they should be playing recreational division, please contact the EYCA administrator before registering
*Less than 12 teams registered will result in only one division created
League fees: Full season registration at $600/team for 12 week season ($150 per player).
Our recreational division will review mid season (6 games + year end), for new teams requesting to join at $380/teams. Registration for that will start in December.
Wind-Up: Wind up will take place after a full day of games on March 9, 2024
Spares List: Players can join the "Spares List" for $25
ALL players, full time or substitutes, must be registered to play in the EYCA
Volunteer Requirements: A non-dated volunteer cheque of $200.00 is required player, due at first game. Once the volunteer commitment of 6 hours (8 hours in a casino year), has been fulfilled, the cheque will be destroyed (or returned upon request). If you would like the cheque returned, please inform the EYCA admin when handing the cheque in. Volunteers can sign up Volunteer Opportunities

Open Doubles League - Starting January 2024

Ages: 10 (birth year 2013)-18 (birth year 2005)  (exceptions may apply)

Team composition: Co-ed and / or same gender teams (open)
Experience: Participants must have at least 1 years experience (exceptions may apply). 
Length of season: 6 week season + year end
Tiered Divisions: Divisions for open doubles are dependent on number of teams registered. Open doubles will require at least 8 teams registered to run
Schedule: Our tentative schedule will have games played on
January 6/7, 13/14, 27/28 - TBD
February 4, 10/11, 24/25 - TBD
March 9 (full day event) at the Ellerslie Curling Club

The EYCA will be hosting a doubles clinic on November 12, 2023 from 12pm - 3pm at the Ellerslie Curling Club. Special guest instructors include Tahli Gill & Dean Hewitt, the Olympic Mixed Doubles Curling Team from Australia.
